ITD takes precautions: Change of castor wheels on all equipment trolleys
In future ITD GmbH shall, as standard practise, fit all its mobile equipment trolleys with double castor wheels without a total locking device and thus preventing any possible safety risks.
With immediate effect ITD GmbH, Europe’s leading supplier of mobile and stationary carrier systems in the medical-technical field, shall no longer supply their mobile equipment trolleys with double castor wheels with an integrated total locking device. In this manner IDT will prevent a possible safety problem - that has already occurred on the market in products of other companies - this consists of a possible loosening of the thread bolt in the castor wheel, and in the worst scenario might result in breakage.
The currently installed double castor wheels with locking devices shall – as usual – be activated by simple activation of the brake on the front or rear castor wheels, depending on the type of equipment trolley. This does not only guarantee a stable position of the equipment trolley, it also ensures a safe working process. These castors comply with the strict requirements of the EN 60601 standards.
Nothing changes with regard to the well-known quality, the different sizes as well as the manufacture of the castor wheels: as standard they have a medium lining hardness, are suitable for all kinds of floors and easily overcome everyday driving obstacles, such as cables. In addition – depending on the model – they are available with a diameter of 75, 100 or 125 mm and are respectively either conductive or non-conductive.
