lf-port, the "little brother" of the flexion-port

08/28/2018

The lf-port has established itself as a new stationary support arm within the ITD product portfolio. As the "little brother" of the flexion-port, it continues to prove itself as a compact and flexible support, especially for monitoring. Lutz Wiehemeyer, Product Manager at ITD GmbH, explained the advantages and potential applications of the lf-port in an interview.

The distinguishing feature of the lf-port is that it does not need to be assembled by the customer; only installation on the wall-side interface and mounting of the monitor itself are required. Here, our product manager talks about an "out-of-the-box - ready-to-mount" principle.

The slimmer and smaller design is also advantageous for monitors in the lower weight range. As Mr Wiehemeyer adds, fast cabling is also possible with the new, height-adjustable support arm. He emphasises the "excellent price-performance ratio" of the lf-port given these advantages. As with other ITD products, the new support arm meets the requirements of a Class I medical device.

In answer to the question of the lf-port's modularity/flexibility, Lutz Wiehemeyer adds: "At the front there is a VESA 75/100 interface. This is a standard mount for monitors and all-in-one PCs. On the wall side, our rapid-mount standard runners and pole adapters should be noted, which enable one-person assembly."

The height-adjustable lf-port can generally be integrated into any medical environment which requires imaging devices that need to be ergonomically adapted to the room. This is especially true with monitoring and documentation workstations.

We also wanted to find out why it would now be impossible to imagine the market without the lf-port. Lutz Wiehemeyer explains: "It rounds off our product portfolio for lighter-weight monitors. The lf-port is an alternative that offers a less expensive height-adjustable medical support arm, filling a gap in the market."
